Texas Weekly Cattle Roundup — Week of Aug. 16–22, 2026

Texas weekly auction receipts totaled 5,572 head, down from 5,708 last week. Statewide, steer and heifer calves sold 5.00 to 15.00 lower, while yearlings were not well tested. Demand was light to moderate on calves due to Panhandle drought, but remained good for yearlings going to feedlots. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 5.00 lower. At Giddings Livestock Auction, with 1,336 head, feeder steers sold 10.00 to 20.00 lower and feeder heifers fell 10.00 to 15.00 lower. Tulia Livestock Auction reported 984 head, where steer and heifer calves dropped 5.00 to 15.00 lower. Producers Livestock in San Angelo saw 672 head, with feeder cattle overall selling 3.00 to 7.00 lower. Lastly, Jordan Cattle Auction in Mason and San Saba handled 2,458 head, finding stocker steers steady to 5.00 lower and feeder steers trading 3.00 to 4.00 higher.
