Receipts totaled 4,812 head across the six Central Texas barns, about 9% lighter than last week as the July heat slowed country movement. Feeder steers sold steady to $3 higher on the better kind, with 600–700 lb steers bringing $2.85–$3.05. Bred cows and pairs remain in strong demand — young bred cows topped at $2,600 in Giddings. Slaughter cows steady. Next week's runs are expected to build ahead of the August grass rush.
